Interim Reports

We are excited to provide this update to our WPA Parents!  On Thursday October 15, 2015 we will be sending home scholar Interim Reports.  These reports will include the following information:

  • Universal Screening Data
  • Program Placement and Lesson Range
  • Program Progress in Reading & Math
  • Leadership & Discipline Information

We understand that our WPA parents have been very patient in receiving this information this year as WPA added approximately 33% new scholars to each grade level.

Understanding Program Placement for Reading

Our Reading Mastery Signatures Reading & Language Arts programs are accelerated programs.  They contain 6 total levels that span Kindergarten through 5th grade.  As an accelerated program the program levels do not necessarily align with grade levels.  Hence a scholar could be working on grade level in 2nd grade and be placed in Reading Mastery Signatures 1 lesson 130.  We code that placement as: RMS1.130.

To help provide clarity, Wayne Prep. Academy has created a chart that shows program level and lessons that coordinate with grade level national benchmarks.  We believe that this will begin to clarify some of the placement questions that we are anticipating after sending home Interim Reports.  However, we always encourage our parents to contact their scholar’s reading teacher for more information.

20 Day Attendance:  Everyone was a Winner!

We had an exciting time handing out 20 day perfect attendance gifts.  Scholars received certificates and WPA key chains.  As promised six lucky scholars [one from each grade level] were drawn for the grand prizes of Leap Frog [K-1] and Kindle Fire [2-5].  Congratulations to everyone and keep up that perfect attendance!

Wayne Preparatory Leadership hits its mark!

On Wednesday October 7, 2015 Wayne Preparatory Academy had a special visitor from Beijing China. Ms Jei Wei of Good Hope Visa visited our school to learn more about our Leadership and Academic programs.  Ms. Wei was representing Good Hope Visa, an Overseas Investment company out of Beijing China that supported Wayne Preparatory Academy with start-up investment funds through Education Fund of America.  Ms. Wei wrote, “It was such a great and impressive trip to visit you and the school yesterday.  Thank you very much!”

Wayne Preparatory Scholars and Teachers were business as usual ~ and that was precisely what we wanted to show off!  Ms. Wei even jumped in and helped our Instructional Assistants during lunch.
