WPA Parents, Families and Friends,
At our request, the Department of Transportation (DoT) visited WPA to see how we do student drop-off and pick-up and also to see if there were areas were we could improve. Overall, DoT left impressed with our ability to run car line and commented that WPA does a “good job” compared to some other schools that they have visited. Nonetheless, there are always opportunities to improve and DoT suggested that the cars dropping off and or picking up scholars should pull within 1 or 2 ft of the vehicle in front of them and by following their guidance more cars will be able to get off of Patetown and Tommys Rd and on to WPAs campus. This small “tweak” will help ensure your safety and the safety of others.

In addition, please remember that WPAs campus, parking lots, drive lines, etc. are all part of a tobacco free campus and that talking on your cell phone in a moving vehicle with out a hands free device is against NC Statute. It puts your scholars and our faculty at a greater safety risk.

Thank you for your assistance in helping us maintain a safe and clean campus.

Thank you,
Josh Preskitt
